HRET’s were designed to address the severe conditions of aircraft firefighting by providing the firefighter with the ability to position the nozzle close to the seat of the fire, thereby allowing the limited amount of agent carried to the scene in a most effective manner. The HRET gives the firefighter the advantage to address any situation that arises or they encounter during the event. In the early stages of the event the airports do not have enough manpower to efficiently attack the fire, this is where the HRET is most valuable.
